LOMBOK

Going to Southeast Asia for the first time and tasting that spectrum of flavors - that certainly changed my whole palate, the kind of foods I crave. A lot of the dishes I used to love became boring to me.

Mornings on the Water

Days began on the water, chasing sunrises that painted the horizon gold. Lombok’s rhythm is slower than Bali, but its stories feel more raw, more real. The boats rocked gently as fishermen set out, and we found ourselves watching the island slowly wake up, wrapped in the stillness of the sea.

Life in Between Villas and Paths

Our stay blended quiet mornings in airy villas with afternoons spent exploring hidden beaches. Between lush gardens, open-air showers, and the company of stray dogs that seemed to belong to no one and everyone, Lombok carried a sense of honesty. It was a mix of comfort and untamed edges, a place that welcomed us into its daily rhythm without ever needing to try too hard.

Nights in the Market Light

Evenings belonged to the markets, where food was not just a meal but a gathering. Freshly caught fish sizzled over open flames, plastic chairs sunk into warm sand, and the salty air carried both smoke and laughter. There was nothing staged about it — the markets were raw, vibrant, and endlessly human. Simple meals became our most vivid memories, not because of taste alone, but because of the stories wrapped around them.

Adventure was never far. With a surfboard under your arm, you could feel the ocean pulling you in; with a ride through palm groves or an off-road trip to the hills, the island revealed new layers of itself. Lombok’s charm lies in these in-between moments — places still untamed, where the wind feels unfiltered and the horizon always suggests more to be discovered. It’s the kind of wildness that keeps you moving, even when all you want is to stop and take it in.
